The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin is on a working visit to the Republic of Belarus, which is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus. On September 12, 2011 the Head of the fraternal state signed a decree on the formation of the Investigative Committee. The delegation of the Investigative Committee of Russia, which arrived in the Union State at the invitation of the head of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Dmitry Gory, also included the head of the Educational Outreach Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Hero of Russia Sergey Petrov, and the head of the department of international cooperation Oleg Mikhailov.

As part of a working visit to Minsk, a working meeting was held between President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus and Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin. During the dialogue it was noted that the Investigative Committees of the Republic of Belarus and of the Russian Federation are actively developing practical cooperation within the framework of the agreements signed between the agencies. Alexander Lukashenko and Alexander Bastrykin have discussed a list of issues on the bilateral agenda with a view to boosting contacts between the law enforcing agencies of Russia and Belarus. The Belarusian leader discussed security issues and emphasized the important role of investigators in ensuring it. "Let's speak frankly, these are the people, who are the main link in this big work", said Alexander Lukashenko. - "We have a generally good composition of the investigative authorities. Trained, responsible and honest people. Speaking of the cooperation between investigating authorities of the Republic of Belarus and Russia, the head of state mentioned the established exchange of experience between the parties. "I am grateful that any request at any level is instantly fulfilled by Russia: they will share their experience, knowledge, material resources and will help", added A.G. Lukashenko.

The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, in turn, expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Belarus for the warm welcome and spoke about the first results of the working negotiations between the agencies. Alexander Bastrykin stressed that many of the topics indicated today by Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko were discussed by the leadership of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus and the Investigative Committee of Russia in a working format. "We also talked about professional development, work on specific criminal cases, and criminological analysis, about the causes of crime and how to deal with them. New types of crime have emerged. Therefore, the investigators of the two countries will sign new protocols on cooperation for the sake of our common victory, which we must ensure on the front of the fight against crime", said A. I. Bastrykin.

The sites of the solemn events devoted to the 10th anniversary of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus also hosted a trilateral meeting of the Chairmen of the Investigative Committees of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation - Argishti Elbekovich Kyaramyan, Dmitry Yuryevich Gory and Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin. The working meeting in a friendly atmosphere of mutual understanding was another step towards the development of international cooperation between the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the competent authorities of the CIS countries. As a result of the negotiations, a common interest was expressed in the need to increase the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies in combating transnational crime and to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

In honor of the landmark date, a number of employees of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus received awards from the Investigative Committee of Russia.
