Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia gives instructions to heads of regional investigative departments on incidents with children

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed A.V. Popov, the Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Arkhangelsk Region and Nenets Autonomous District, to report on the investigation into the probe on the murder of a 17-year-old teenager in the town of Severodvinsk. Investigative actions are being carried out in order to establish all the circumstances of the accident. The progress of investigation of the probe is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Alexander Bastrykin also instructed A. Starikov, the Head of the Moscow Regional Main Investigations Directorate, to report on the investigation of the probe on pillage (Paragraph D of Part 2 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code) against a minor. According to investigators, the suspect hit a 9-year-old girl twice in the face with his palm and stole her mobile phone from her near an apartment building in the Rekinzo neighbourhood of Solnechnogorskiy urban district on September 11, 2021. A 38-year-old man with a criminal record has now been detained. The man will soon be charged and the issue of preventive measures against him will be decided.

The Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed D.N. Cherniyayev, the Head of the Bashkortostan Republican Investigations Directorate, to report on the progress of the investigation into the violation of the rights of a family with disabled children from the town of Tuimazy. It was reported earlier that the family had been given accommodation in a crumbling building.

A.D. Golombievsky, acting head of the head of St. Petersburg Main Investigative Department, was instructed to report on the situation in a hospital in the city where a 3-year-old boy had been tied to a chair. Earlier, the investigative authorities of the St Petersburg Investigative Committee of Russia had proactively requested that the materials of the pre-investigation be transferred from the police to their own jurisdiction. Investigators are currently taking all necessary steps to establish the circumstances surrounding the possible wrongdoing against the child.
