Investigation of a probe into illegal entrepreneurship and environmental damage completed

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia finished investigation of a probe into businessman Vitaly Lozovoy. He is charged with committing offenses under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 171 and Article 246 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal entrepreneurship, violation of rules for environmental protection during performance of works).

The investigation established that from May to October 2017 the head of Profstroy LLC and Zarya LLC Vitaly Lozovoy, as part of an organized group, in absence of relevant license organized the extraction of boulder-sand-gravel mixture on the territory of Kochubeyevsky district of Stavropol Krai, causing major damage to the state in the amount of more than 5 million rubles. His actions also caused serious consequences for the environment and its component - the land (soil), including in the form of land degradation and damage to the soil as an object of environmental protection in the amount of more than 320 million rubles.

The investigators collected enough evidence for the criminal case to be transferred to court.
