In terms of investigation of a probe launched into disappearance of a 9-year-old Viktoria Gnedova on June 18, 2021 in Kazar settlement of Zalegoschensky District of Orel Region, the Orel Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia with participation of forensic investigators of the Main Forensics Department (Forensic Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia), during well-planned investigative actions and search activities, discovered a cache was found at a depth of the basement of an apartment building, , where the body of the victim was found in clothing that allowed her to be identified.

A local citizen has been detained at suspicion of committing the crime. He is subjected to investigative actions.

At present the investigators are examining the scene, forensic and DNA examinations are to be appointed. The criminal investigation is ongoing.

The investigators will establish the circumstances of the incident in detail. The process of investigation is under supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
