The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the heads of the investigative departments of the Committee to ensure that all reports of electoral violations transmitted from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia are verified. Investigators should promptly organize verification activities for the subsequent adoption of procedural decisions in accordance with applicable law. A number of regional investigative departments has already launched pre-investigative probes. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia put this work under supervision.
To remind, on behalf of Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the department of the State Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee, specializing in the investigation of crimes in the field of high technologies, is also conducting a pre-investigation check on reports of cyber attacks from abroad on the resources of the federal platform of remote electronic voting. It should be noted that with the development of information technologies, unfortunately, the opportunities for illegal elements to infringe on the fundamental rights of citizens, and in particular from abroad, have increased. The facts that took place during the days of the all-Russian voting testify to the planned actions in the information field. On the one hand, this is an attempt to prevent citizens from exercising their constitutional rights, on the other, it is discrediting state authorities. The Investigative Committee, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, will take all possible measures to establish the sources of such actions and will give a legal assessment of all such facts.
