The Sverdlovsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia pressed charges under Paragraphs A, C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder of two or more persons, including minors) against a previously repeatedly convicted local resident born in 1983 and working at a car wash. The Criminal Code provides for the punishment for this especially grave offense up to lifetime imprisonment.
According to the investigation, on the night of September 22, 2021 the accused, being in one of the apartments in the house on Tsentralniy Boulevard in Kirovgrad, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, during a sudden interpersonal conflict caused bodily injuries (including stab wounds) to the owner of the house, born in 1984, and also killed her two young sons, born in 2017. In order to cover up the traces of the murder, the perpetrator set fire to the apartment, after which he fled the scene.
The Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation applied to the court for a preventive measure against the detainee in the form of custody. The court, having considered the materials submitted by the Investigative Committee, put the accused in custody for two months, until November 22, 2021. Currently, the in terms of the criminal case the investigation continues the implementation of investigative actions for the collection and consolidation of evidence. Inspections of the scene have been conducted, a number of witnesses have been questioned, a set of examinations is being carried out.
The investigation of the criminal case is under supervision of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
