The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the acting head of the Tatarstan Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to report on performed investigative actions on a probe into stealing of funds from the investigative department.
According to investigators, in Kazan unidentified attackers broke into the building of one of the departments of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Republic of Tatarstan and stole a safe with cash worth over 14.6 million rubles, which is physical evidence in a criminal case. The Tatarstan Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia instituted criminal proceedings under Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code (large-scale theft).
Investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident are underway.
The progress of the investigation is under control of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
