The Chairman of Investigative Committee of Russia puts the investigation of the circumstances of deadly poisonings in the Orenburg Region under supervision

Investigative agencies of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Orenburg region initiated five criminal cases for crimes under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code (production and sale of goods not meeting safety requirements, resulting in the death of more than two people by negligence), Paragraph A of Part 6 of Article 171. 1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (production, purchase, storage, transportation for sale or sale of unmarked alcoholic beverages subject to mandatory marking with excise stamps or federal special stamps, committed on a large scale by a group of persons by prior conspiracy); Part 1 of Article 171.3 of the Criminal Code (Illegal production and trafficking of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products, committed on a large scale).  The criminal cases have been merged in one.

At the time of publication of the information, the death of 17 victims was stated, and a number of citizens are in medical institutions, where they are provided with the necessary assistance.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Orenburg Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia V.D. Zuberman to report on the inspection.

The progress of investigation of the probe is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

As previously reported, as a result of a complex of investigative actions and investigative and search operations carried out as part of the investigation, the involvement of a 29-year-old resident of Orsk, who organized the illegal production and sale of dangerous alcoholic beverages on a large scale, was established. He has been detained. In addition, the investigators detained a 60-year-old resident of Akzharskoye village in the Yasnensky urban district and a 47-year-old resident of Krasnochabansky village in the Dombarovsky district of the Orenburg region, who were selling alcohol-containing products to the victims. The investigation is to motion the court about the pre-trial custody for the detainees.
