The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to transfer a criminal case on the fact of poisoning people in the Orenburg Region to the Central Office of the Committee

In connection with the public outcry, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed to transfer the criminal case opened on the fact of poisoning people with alcoholic products in the Orenburg Region to the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for a full and comprehensive investigation.

Earlier it was reported that the Orenburg Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 238, Paragraph A of Part 6 of Article 171.1, Part 1 of Article 171.3 of the Criminal Code of Russia. 

By the time of publication, 37 victims had been identified, 18 of whom died. The rest had already received, or were in the process of receiving of medical treatment. At the moment, 6 local residents have been detained on suspicion of committing the offense.

In the course of procedural and operational-search measures, all the circumstances that contributed to the commission of crimes and the persons involved in them, as well as other possible episodes of illegal actions, will be established.

The investigation will provide a legal assessment to the actions (inaction) of all persons involved in the commission of the crime.
