On the night of October 10 of this year, a private residential building located on Urozhainaya Street caught fire in Kurgan. During the inspection of the scene, the bodies of six people were found, including children, born in 2013 and 2008. On this fact, the Kurgan Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence to two or more persons).

The Altai Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated and are investigating a criminal case on the fact of negligence of employees of the prevention system, which entailed a violation of the rights of a disabled child. According to the investigation, in August 2021 in the city of Barnaul, local residents turned to law enforcement agencies with a statement that a 16-year-old disabled child was in danger, whom his mother, who abused alcohol, left alone at home. The young man and his 12-year-old sister were removed from the family, and their mother subsequently died. At the same time, the bodies of the prevention system of the city of Barnaul, knowing that the woman was inappropriately engaged in raising children, and the boy did not receive proper medical care, did not take measures to protect the rights of minors.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the heads of the designated investigative units to provide reports on the progress of the investigation of the above criminal cases. The further investigation will be supervised by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
