The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests a report on the death of Russian citizens in Albania

The media reported the death of 4 tourists from Moscow in a hotel in the village of Kerret in the province of Kavaya in the west of the Republic of Albania. It is reported that the 60-year-old head of the family, his 58-year-old wife, their daughter and her young man died. The bodies of the victims were found in the SPA-area on October 15. The Russians came to the hotel from Northern Macedonia and asked for a pool they wanted to visit after the sauna. The media reported that the cause of death of the Russians may have been chlorine in the hotel pool. The employee might have used too much cleaning agent, which led to the deaths.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee and the Department of Legal Support and International Cooperation of the Investigative Committee with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to obtain information from the competent authorities of the Republic of Albania and report on all the circumstances of the tragic death of Russian citizens.
