The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests a report on the progress of the investigation into the criminal case into calls to commit unlawful acts against police officers in Moscow

The Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a probe into a 60-year-old man. He is accused of committing offense under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (actions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity of a group of persons on the basis of their membership in a social group, committed publicly, with the use of information and telecommunications network "Internet", with the threat of violence).

According to the investigation, in August 2020 the accused, while in the city of Moscow, posted on one of the forums in the information and telecommunications network "Internet" materials calling for the commission of unlawful acts against members of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation. Unlawful activities of the perpetrator were revealed and suppressed in the course of joint work of the investigators of the District Department and employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as the Russian Interior Ministry. A search was conducted at his place of residence, during which computer equipment, electronic devices, and other items of interest to the investigation were seized, on which the criminal activity of the accused was recorded.

During the interrogation the man fully confessed and repented, he was charged and subjected to travel and behaviour restrictions.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Moscow Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia Strizhov A.A. to deliver a report on the progress of the investigation.
