The Eastern Interregional Transport Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal proceedings over the crash of AN-12 airplane under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code (violation of safety rules and operation of air transport, resulting in death of two or more persons).
According to preliminary information, on November 3, 2021 the AN-12 cargo flight on the route Keperveem-Yakutsk-Irkutsk crashed while making the second circle 4 km from Irkutsk near the village of Pivovarikha of Irkutsk district. There were presumably 6 crew members on board the plane.
Currently, fire and rescue units of the Russian Emergency Ministry are carrying out search and rescue operations and fire suppression activities at the crash site of the aircraft.
Investigation team went to the scene, the number of victims aboard the aircraft is being specified, a set of investigative and procedural actions aimed at establishing the circumstances of the accident are being carried out.
