The Eastern Interregional Transport Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched criminal proceedings over the air accident which happened today with the AN-12 plane under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of safety rules of movement and operation of air transport).

According to investigators, on November 3, 2021 the AN-12 aircraft performing a cargo flight on the route Keperveem-Yakutsk-Irkutsk crashed while making the second circle 4 km away from Irkutsk near the village of Pivovarikha of Irkutsk district. The number of dead and injured is being specified.

On behalf of the Russian Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin, the criminal investigation was transferred to the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Experienced forensic experts from the Central Office of the Committee were sent to the scene of the accident.
