On the conclusion of the working visit of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia to the Republic of Belarus

Concluding his working visit to Belarus, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation met with the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, Dmitry Gora, and his First Deputy, Oleg Stanislavovich Shandarovich.

After discussing with his Belarusian counterparts the topical issues of further interaction and cooperation, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia welcomed the productive results of the working trip.

In particular, agreements were reached on the development of educational programmes and projects for students and cadets of the investigative bodies of both countries. The actual exchange of experience in the educational sphere will serve both for the acquisition of new knowledge and skills and for the development of the moral and patriotic foundations of the younger generation.

During the meeting the parties also agreed on cooperation in the investigation of the genocide crimes committed during the Great Patriotic War against the civilian population in the territory of the former republics of the Soviet Union, including Belarus. The parties have underscored the need and significance of the work aimed at preserving the historical truth and investigating the crimes committed by the occupiers.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Alexander Bastrykin invited his colleagues to visit Moscow and St Petersburg to develop further cooperation between the investigative committees of the two countries.
