Investigation of a criminal case into death of Sofya Konkina finished

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia completed the investigation into the criminal case of the death of Sofya Konkina, the daughter of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Konkin.

On September 22, 2020, Konkina began drowning while swimming at the Jump Fitness Club pool. According to investigators, the lack of medical personnel, a swim instructor on duty at the club, and untimely medical care at the club resulted in the victim's death at the medical facility two days later.

Anna Andrianova, the founder and manager of Fitness Club Jump LLC, was charged with providing services that do not meet the safety requirements of life and health of consumers, resulting in death (Article 238 of the Criminal Code), and subjected to a preventive measure in the form of prohibition of certain actions.

In order to secure the civil claim asserted by the victim Konkin, the property of the accused worth 11 million rubles was seized.

A number of expert examinations, including two complex commissioned medical examinations, were conducted in the criminal case, numerous witnesses and specialists were questioned, and other investigative actions were conducted to confirm Andrianova's involvement.

The investigators collected enough evidence for the criminal case to be transferred to court.
