Alexander Bastrykin requests a report on progress in a criminal case into the murder of a musician in St Petersburg

Following an appeal to the heads of the Investigative Committee of Russia criticising the investigation into the murder of Alexander Yushko a.k.a. Andy Cartwright in St. Petersburg, aired on a federal channel, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the acting head of the St. Petersburg Main Investigative Department, A.D. Golombievsky to report on the progress of the probe, investigative actions taken and the results of expert examinations. 

According to investigators, the murdered man's wife caused the death of her husband in an apartment on Nevsky Prospect in St Petersburg no later than July 29, 2020, in the course of a sudden personal enmity conflict in a manner not determined by the investigation. The accused then dismembered the victim's body in an effort to conceal the crime. The woman was detained on 31.07.2020 and on the same day she was charged with murder under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia. 

The process of investigation is under supervision of the Central Office of the Committee.
