The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia puts under supervision the progress of investigation into murder of a child in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) initiated a criminal case over the discovery of the body of a 2-year-old child with signs of violent death in an apartment house in Yakutsk on the night of November 9, 2021 under Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder of a minor).

Inspections of the scene and the body of the dead child were conducted. The mother of the boy has been interrogated. During the investigation, investigators had reason to believe that the 25-year-old repeatedly convicted cohabitant of the woman, who fled the apartment, could be involved in the crime. The whereabouts of the man were established during operative-search measures carried out by the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Republican Ministry of Internal Affairs and the department for solving crimes against the personality of the city police. He was detained in the morning of November 9 and taken to the investigator. In the near future, the investigator will make a request for a preventive measure against him. In addition, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) initiated criminal proceedings for a crime under Paragraph 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code. According to the investigation, the inadequate performance of official duties by prevention officers did not allow them to identify a family in a difficult situation and to organize appropriate work with it.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia assigned the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Kondratenko V.V. to present a report on the performed investigative actions.
