The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to report on the circumstances of illegal hunting in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) V. V. Kondratenko to report on the circumstances of illegal hunting and the course of the criminal investigation into the crime under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code (illegal hunting with the use of mechanical means).

According to investigators, during raids conducted by the Nyurba Committee of State Environmental Supervision together with the Directorate of Biological Resources, 12 carcasses of wild forest reindeer were found in specially protected natural areas of the Nyurba district. At present, in order to establish the circumstances of animal deaths, investigators are conducting a set of investigative actions aimed at establishing the actual circumstances of the incident within the framework of the criminal case.

The progress of the criminal investigation is under supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
