The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests a report on the progress of assessment into violation of rights of elderly people in the Moscow Region

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the head of the Moscow Regional Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. Starikov to report on the progress of verification of information from social networks about violations of citizens' rights in the boarding house for the elderly, located in Mytishchi. It was reported that the caregivers had allegedly abused the wards.  The Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia organized as assessment into this matter.

To date, investigators have conducted an inspection of the premises occupied by the boarding house, requested constituent documents, contracts with the staff to provide services, job descriptions and other documents. Video footage posted on the Internet was examined, and the tenants depicted in the video were identified and interviewed. Their interview showed that no illegal actions were committed against them. A traumatologist conducted a medical examination, which found no visible injuries on the pensioners. They also interviewed 15 other residents, who explained that no unlawful acts were committed by the employees against them.

At the same time, in order to question and establish all the circumstances under which the shooting was made, measures have been taken to locate the former employee of the boarding house, who shot and posted the video on her messenger. The pre-investigative probe will result in a procedural decision.

The progress of the probe is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
