The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia orders report on criminal investigation into car accident in New Moscow that killed a child

Investigative authorities of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation initiated criminal proceedings on the accident which resulted in the death of a child under Part 4 Article 264 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person through negligence).

According to investigators, the driver of a Gazelle vehicle hit an elderly woman and a woman with a young boy and a pram carrying a child in the evening of 20 November 2021 in New Moscow. As a result, one child died on the spot, while two women and a second child were hospitalised in medical facilities where they are receiving the necessary treatment.

The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed the head of the Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia A.A. Strizhov, to report on the investigation and put it under supervision of the Central Office.
