On November 20, 2021 the body of a man born in 1971 was found with obvious signs of violent death on highway A-121 "Sortavala" in Vsevolozhsky district of Leningrad region. The Leningrad Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal proceedings for the crime under Part 1 Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder).

As a result of investigative and operational measures, three young men were detained by investigators and police officers on hot pursuit. During the initial investigative actions it was established that on November 20, 2021 in a garage on Laboratornaya street in St. Petersburg the two defendants in a state of alcohol intoxication during a conflict with a man born in 1971 stabbed him several times. In order to conceal the crime, they decided to take the body of the murdered man by car to Leningrad Oblast and asked an acquaintance of theirs to help them. After committing the crime, they took the necessary equipment from the garage and set the garage on fire. However, when driving on the highway A-121 "Sortavala" the driver failed to control the car and collided with a roadblock. As a result of the accident, the victim's body fell out of the car. The three men fled the scene, but were detained several hours later.

During the interrogation, the two detainees born in 1998 confirmed their involvement in the crime. The initial investigative actions established that the third detainee did not take part in the murder. At the same time he committed concealment of a crime. The investigator charged them with the alleged crimes. In addition, during the testimony verification, one of the defendants confessed to a murder committed in St. Petersburg in 2020. The investigating agency sent a petition to the court for the selection of a preventive measure for the two perpetrators in the form of detention.

A complex of necessary investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime is being carried out, and measures are being taken to clarify the causes and conditions that contributed to the crime.

Due to the fact that the crime was committed in St. Petersburg, in the near future the criminal case will be transferred to the St. Petersburg Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for further investigation.
