The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed investigators in St. Petersburg to conduct a procedural check on the fact of possible unlawful acts in the allocation of the premises of the inclusive workshop

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the Acting Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg A.D. Golombievsky to conduct a procedural check on media reports about threats in the allocation of premises for an inclusive workshop.

It was reported in the media that in the city of St. Petersburg, a workshop was set up to engage people with developmental disabilities. Such workshops help people with mental disabilities to socialize and get a profession. The head of the organization reports that funds were allocated as part of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for 300 square meters of space. However, the owner of the premises began to receive threats of various inspections if the workshop was to occupy it. In this regard, the employees of the institution found another room, which is almost three times smaller than the declared one.

The head of the Committee demanded to establish all the circumstances during the inspection and make a procedural decision immediately, if there were any reasons. In addition, the leadership of the investigative department was instructed to provide the workshop all necessary assistance and prepare a letter to the Governor of St. Petersburg on the situation.
