The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Tyumen region A.A. Kublyakov to transfer the criminal case of a fatal road accident in Tyumen region, in which an employee of the regional investigative department is suspected, to the investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to organize further investigation.
It was previously reported that on the night of November 23 to 24, 2021 the suspect was intoxicated while driving a car and hit two road workers. The Tyumen Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal proceedings against an employee of regional investigative department for the crime provided by Paragraph A of Part 6 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code (traffic violations, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence, a person in a state of intoxication).
Today the suspect was detained, the investigation intends to apply to the court for a measure of restraint in the form of custody. The employee has already been dismissed from the bodies of the Investigative Committee on negative motives.
As part of the further investigation of the criminal case, the investigators were instructed to establish all the circumstances of the accident and give a comprehensive and principle legal assessment of the actions of the accident perpetrator.
The progress of the criminal investigation has been put under supervision of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
