Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia holds briefing in St. Petersburg

As part of a working visit to St. Petersburg Alexander Bastrykin held an operational meeting with the heads of several investigative departments and institutions of the Committee located in the Northern Capital. It was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Klaus, the leadership of the second investigative department of the Investigative Committee (with a location in St. Petersburg), the Leningrad Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the acting head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for St. Petersburg, as well as management of departmental educational institutions and cultural center.

The head of the department heard reports from the heads of investigative departments on certain areas of activity, as well as on the progress and results of the investigation of specific criminal cases that have caused a public outcry.

Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation A.V. Klaus reported on the ongoing work on detection and investigation of crimes of past years by investigative departments located in the North-West Federal District. He noted the measures taken to improve the effectiveness of activities in this area, as well as identified a number of planned activities.

The head of the second investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia (with a location in St. Petersburg) V.V. Loskukov reported on the completion of the criminal investigation into the embezzlement in 2018-2019 by members of an organized criminal group of funds from the budget of the municipal district of Vyborg. Separately, they talked about interim measures, including those taken in this criminal case. Thus, in order to compensate for the damage caused, the court seized the property of the accused in the amount of 90 million rubles established by the investigation. In addition, the circumstances of the crime committed against the sexual inviolability of a 16-year-old girl, established during the preliminary investigation, were announced. Investigative actions in this criminal case have been completed, and the accused are in the process of getting acquainted with its materials.

The head of the Investigative Committee heard a report by the acting head of the State Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg A.D. Golombievsky on the actual results of the investigation of the circumstances of the fire that occurred on June 4, 2019 in the house of Alexei Cherkassky (Ritter). In addition, it was reported that the court imposed a fine on a man who had illegally rebuilt a window opening in the bearing wall and the facade by destroying the wall of an apartment building included in the unified state register of cultural heritage.

Head of the Leningrad Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia S.T. Sazin reported on the work done in the criminal investigation into the death of a woman born in 1924 in an elevator in a private boarding house "Green Quarter" in the Vsevolozhsky district of the region. The President was also briefed on the progress of the criminal investigation into the murder of an elderly man in 1997. The head of this department also reported on the organizational measures taken to improve the efficiency of the investigative units.

The director of the Boarding School for Inmates E. Yu. Garanina, Acting Rector of the St. Petersburg Academy V.V. Loboda, Acting Director of the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps D.I. Tereschenko and the Head of the Cultural Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia M.D. Krasnopeyeva discussed issues of educational and upbringing processes. There were reports on the current progress of students of educational organizations of the department in St. Petersburg and plans to improve the buildings and premises where the boarding school and cadet corps are located. At the same time, the issues of providing housing for cadets, students and boarding students from the number of orphans and children left without parental care were considered. At the same time, Alexander Bastrykin stressed that this task requires a careful approach, and its solution will be carried out with the support of the department.

Also as part of the meeting, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, outlining some successes in the implementation of the functions of the spiritual and patriotic education of young people, awarded a number of employees of the Cultural Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia with certificates of merit and gratitude. In addition, departmental medals "For Assistance" were awarded to representatives of the regional television channel "Saint Petersburg".
