The Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructs to report on the progress of the probe into a road accident in Krasnodar Territory that resulted in the death of a young boy

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed A.K. Maslov, Head of the Investigative Committee for Krasnodar Krai, to report on the initial findings of the probe into the road traffic accident that killed the teenager (Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Russian Criminal Code).

According to investigators, the suspect was driving a Hyundai Sonata in the evening of 27 November 2021 when he hit a 13-year-old boy who was crossing the road. After the accident, the suspect fled the scene and drove to the town of Labinsk, hiding his car. The victim's brother, who witnessed the incident, called law enforcers and an ambulance to hospitalise the injured child. Despite receiving treatment, the minor died in hospital on 30 November 2021. In the shortest possible time, the identity of the person involved was established and his car was found. During the interrogation, the suspect made a confession. the preventive measure for him is being currently decided upon.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Central Office of the Committee to supervise the process and the results of this probe.
