In an interview published by Interfax and Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Alexander Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee, said that "over the first nine months of this year 331 criminal cases were brought against individuals with special legal status, compared to 338 in the same period last year.  Criminal proceedings were instituted against 83 deputies of local government bodies, 86 elected heads of municipalities of local government bodies, 42 members of election commissions, 19 prosecutors, 11 investigators and heads of investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee, 18 investigators and heads of preliminary investigation bodies in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, 41 lawyers, 7 judges and 8 deputies of the legislative body of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation". However, the work to identify and investigate crimes committed by this category of persons continues.

Currently, the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a criminal case against the former acting chairwoman of the Belorechensky District Court of Krasnodar Krai, Irina Dadash. She is charged with committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on a particularly large scale).

It was established that in 2019 the investigative authorities of the Krasnodar Territory investigated a criminal case against employees of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Adygea State University" in the city of Belorechensk on the facts of bribery and mediation in bribery. Being aware of this fact, Dadash offered the relatives of the two defendants her assistance in stopping the prosecution in exchange for a money reward in the amount of 35 million rubles. The collected money in the amount of 560 thousand US dollars was handed over to the judge in the city of Lyubertsy, Moscow region.

In fact, Dadash had no opportunity to influence the course of the criminal investigation, did not intend to perform any actions for the benefit of the accused, and stole the money she received.

Dadash was subjected to preventive detention.

At present, a set of investigative activities aimed to establish circumstances of the incident is being carried out with regard to the probe.
