A criminal case was initiated against the former prosecutor of Dzerzhinsky district of Novosibirsk

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal proceedings against Oleg Bushmakin, former prosecutor of the Dzerzhinsky district of Novosibirsk. He is suspected of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code and Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (bribery and abuse of power).

The investigation established that between May and July 2019, Oleg Bushmakin, who held the above position, received, through the mediation of a number of persons, 150 thousand rubles as a bribe from the director of JSC "Sibsma" Sergey Dolgushin. The money was intended for the provision of copies of the documents of the procedural inspection conducted by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Novosibirsk Region in relation to Dolgushin on the fact of tax evasion.

In addition, in 2018 Bushmakin exceeded his official authority and gave the head of the district police department under his supervision an illegal instruction to place a foreign national on the migration registration in violation of legal requirements.

Currently, a search is being conducted at Bushmakin's place of residence, after which it is planned to detain him, charge him with the crime, and petition the court for a measure of restraint in the form of custody.

At present, a set of investigative activities aimed to establish circumstances of the incident is being carried out with regard to the probe.

The Investigative Committee is carrying out extensive work to uncover instances of corruption crimes, which is confirmed, among other things, by statistical data. You can read more about them in an interview with the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia to the Interfax and Rossiyskaya Gazeta news agencies.
