The Chairman of the Investigative Committee initiated criminal proceedings against a judge of the Voronezh Regional Court

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, with the consent of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges, initiated criminal proceedings against Lyudmila Kozieva, judge of the Voronezh Regional Court. She is suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code (traffic violations resulting in negligent infliction of serious harm to health).

Materials of the procedural check on the fact of the road accident involving the acting judge were transferred to the central office after the personal reception by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the relatives of the victim.

According to the investigation, in the summer of 2020 Kozieva, driving a personal car "Volkswagen Touareg" in Voronezh, exceeded the speed limit. Having violated the rules, when she was shifting, she made an exit to the sidewalk and made a collision with a parked car "VAZ 21150", in which the victim was.

As a result of the accident the driver of the car received a closed head injury.

With a view of establishment of all circumstances of what has happened complex commission medical and auto-technical forensic examinations which have allowed to draw conclusions about character and weight of the caused to the victim of bodily damages are carried out.

According to expert conclusions Kozieva had technical possibility to prevent the collision by timely braking and observance of speed limits but she did not do it.

The bodily injuries received by the victim as a result of the accident in the form of a closed cranial trauma are considered as having caused serious harm to human health.

Currently a complex of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime are carried out. The investigation continues.
