Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed the acting head of the Western Interregional Transport Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, P.S. Vyments, to report on the circumstances of the incident in the airspace, as it became known that a Russian airline's aircraft flying from Ekaterinburg to Sochi had been forced to change course due to an unidentified aircraft. There were more than 160 people aboard the plane.
