As part of his working visit to the Kemerovo region, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin held a meeting with relatives of those killed and injured at the Listvyazhnaya mine. The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia E.V. Kaburneyev, representatives of the investigation team.
The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia once again expressed his deep condolences in connection with the tragedy. All those present observed a moment of silence.
The head of the investigative team told the relatives about the progress of the criminal investigation, in particular, about the appointed and ongoing examinations, the directions of the preliminary investigation and the current information available. A.I. Bastrykin, in turn, pointed out the need to establish the role of the mine owners in the tragedy as part of the criminal investigation. At the meeting, citizens asked questions about the progress of the investigation. In accordance with the problems and arguments they voiced, A.I. Bastrykin adjusted the investigation plan and instructed the staff of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to establish direct contact with the victims to promptly exchange information and study the information received from them.
In addition, the victims were interested in the possibility of exercising their social rights and the procedure for issuing copies of forensic medical examinations. "People want to know the cause of death of their loved ones. Therefore, it is necessary to complete forensic examinations and familiarize them with the results as soon as possible," said A. I. Bastrykin. The head of Investigative Committee of Russia emphasized that any necessary assistance, including social assistance, would be rendered to the people who were present. He instructed the head of the territorial division of the Investigative Committee of Russia to establish contact with the victims in order to assist them in all social aspects.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia once again drew attention to the fact that the investigation will restore the whole chain of events and the reasons that led to the terrible tragedy. After the meeting with the victims, A.I. Bastrykin held a meeting with citizens who had addressed him with personal questions.
