The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests a report on the progress of an inquiry into violation of rights of a pensioner from Moscow

A law program aired a story about an 84-year-old pensioner from Moscow who was seeking through the courts to terminate an annuity contract, as a result of which over 100 people had been registered with her. It is reported that in 2007 an elderly woman signed a life annuity contract for her one-room apartment with a man whose wife promised to take care of the elderly woman. The pensioner, according to media reports, was also promised monthly maintenance, but they did not fulfill their obligations. In 2013, the spouses divorced and fictitiously divided the property as jointly acquired, starting to sell the fictitious registration in the apartment of the pensioner.  The Moscow Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia organized an initial inquiry into this material.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee ordered the head of the Moscow Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, A.A. Strizhov, to report on all the circumstances and reasons that led to the violation of the rights of the elderly woman. The progress and results of the inspection are under supervision of the Central Office of the agency.
