The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests a report on the circumstances of death of a child in Kamchatka

The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kamchatka Region is investigating a criminal case against a 35-year-old local resident suspected of causing the death of her minor son by negligence (Part 1 Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code).

According to the investigation, the suspect, knowing full well that her 4-year-old son needed special care due to his congenital disease, from September to December of this year she abused alcohol and did not show proper care and attention to the child's health, did not ensure that the child followed the necessary diet, which led to the exhaustion of the child and the onset of his death. During the investigation of the criminal case the living conditions of the minor in the family, the organization of his care given the congenital disease, and the actions of the officials responsible for the prevention of crimes against minors will be assessed.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Kamchatka Territory A.V. Lipalo to report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the circumstances of the child's death. The progress of the investigation is under supervision in the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
