In connection with the appeal filed with the IC of Russia superiors by the mother of the 17-year-old Tambov Oblast resident who disappeared in 2016, the chairman of the IC of Russia ordered Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Tambov Oblast A. N. Polshakov to report on the criminal case investigation progress and the investigative measures taken.
In her appeal, the missing person's mother notes that the investigative actions carried out to date have not brought any results.
In April 2020, the woman already addressed the Chairman of the IC of Russia during a personal appointment via video conference. At the appointment, the department head was dissatisfied with the investigators’ work in the region on this case and gave a number of specific instructions.
The investigative authorities of the ID of the IC of Russia for Tambov Oblast continue to investigate the criminal case on the disappearance of the young man from the village of Kamenka, Rzhakinsky District, Tambov Oblast. According to the investigators, on the evening of April 29, 2016, the teenager and his friend used a motorcycle to get to the club in the village of Volkhonshchina, Rzhakinsky District. The teenager did not return home. On May 1, 2016, his jacket was found on the bank of the Savala river near the village of Volkhonshchina, Rzhakinsky District. In order to locate the missing person, 62 trips to the Savala river were carried out with the participation of Tambov regional public institution Fire and Rescue Center’s divers, who examined the waters of the river and its banks. To examine the riverbed in the vicinity of reservoirs, forensic investigators of the central office (Forensic Center of the IC of Russia) used a sonar and an echo locator, an underwater video surveillance system, and other forensic equipment. However, the missing young man has not been found.
