Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Instructs to Report on Circumstances of Death of a Child Whose Body Was Found in Leningrad Oblast

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin has instructed Head of the Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Leningrad Oblast S. T. Sazin to report on the progress of an investigation initiated following the discovery of a 2-year-old girl’s body in an apartment in Leningrad Oblast.

According to media reports, law enforcement authorities found the girl's body in an apartment in Murino, Leningrad Oblast. It was her mother who brought the child to this address from St. Petersburg, where the girl had been living with a nanny for a long time.

Currently, investigators of the investigative authorities of the IC of Russia inspect both the apartment in St. Petersburg and the place where the child's body was found in Murino. The necessary forensic tests have been scheduled.

The head of the Department has instructed the investigators to scrutinize all the circumstances of the incident. The investigation course and results are closely monitored by the Central Office of the IC of Russia.
