On February 4, 2022, in an apartment of one of the houses in the town of Troitsk, in the course of a domestic conflict with a cohabitee, the suspect tried to stab her with a knife; she was holding her 2-year-old daughter at the moment. As a result, the child was stabbed and later died in a medical facility. A criminal case was initiated on a possible crime under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, resulting in the death of the victim by negligence), Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder). The suspect was detained. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him and bringing charges is currently under consideration.

The Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed Head of the Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Chelyabinsk Oblast P. G. Reshetnikov, to report on the progress of the criminal case investigation, ordering the Central Office of the IC to monitor it.
