The investigative bodies of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia have completed the investigation into a criminal case accusing Anatoly Bykov of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 33, Paragraph H of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (incitement to contract killing), Part 4 of Article 33, Part 3 of Article 30, Paragraphs A, H of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (incitement to attempt of contract killing of two persons).

According to the investigators, in the period up to September 27, 2004, Anatoly Bykov, on grounds of personal animosity, had a criminal intent aimed at killing a 42-year-old Krasnoyarsk businessman. Fulfilling his plan, on one day in the period from September to October 2004, being on the territory of his household in the village of Udachny, Krasnoyarsk, Bykov met with his acquaintance and instructed him to murder the victim. The man agreed to commit the crime for $50 thousand, and Bykov expressed his willingness to pay the agreed amount.

Further, in the period up to October 14, 2004, Anatoly Bykov, on grounds of personal animosity, had a criminal intent aimed at killing another person – a 38-year-old Krasnoyarsk businessman who carried out business activities under Bykov's patronage and control. Realizing his plans, on one of the days of October 2004, while being on the territory of his household in the village of Udachny, Krasnoyarsk, Bykov met with the same acquaintance and instructed him to postpone the murder of the 42-year-old Krasnoyarsk businessman, and first to murder the 38-year-old entrepreneur.

Later, the killer followed the victim for several weeks to choose the most appropriate time and place to commit the murder. During this time, he asked his acquaintance to assist in the crime.

On November 1, 2004, on the roadway of Stanovaya Street, Krasnoyarsk, the perpetrator, assisted by his acquaintance, fired at least 7 shots from a Kalashnikov assault rifle from a moving car at the victim who was returning to his home by car, but missed.

After the failed murder attempt, the perpetrator started to follow the 42-year-old Krasnoyarsk businessman in order to choose the most favorable situation for the murder. In the morning on January 18, 2005, near the descent to the garage block located near 66, Ada Lebedeva Street in Krasnoyarsk, he fired at least four fatal shots at the man with a pistol.

During a further meeting, Anatoly Bykov paid the acquaintance a part of the money in the amount of $10 thousand for killing the businessman, reducing the remuneration for the killer's failure to commit the murder of the first victim and long preparation for the murder of the second one.

The defendant denies his involvement in the crime committed.

Currently, the criminal case indictment awaits approval, after which the case will be filed for trial.
