Chairman of the IC of Russia Orders to Monitor Investigation of Criminal Case on Attempted Murder of Minor in Republic of Khakassia

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. I. Bastrykin has instructed Acting Head of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia A. G. Zyubanov to report on the ongoing investigative measures and relevant information on the criminal case on the attempted murder of a child in the Republic of Khakassia (Part 3 of Article 30, Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code).

According to the investigators, on February 5, 2022, a 24-year-old resident of the city of Abakan came to her ex-husband's apartment with her 2-year-old son. While indoors, the 27-year-old man took a folding knife and stabbed the boy twice in the chest. The woman ran out of the apartment with her son, asking the neighbors for help. The child was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Due to the timely provided medical assistance, the boy stayed alive; his life is currently not in danger.

It was preliminarily established that at the time of committing the crime, the child's father was in a state of drug intoxication. He has been apprehended; in the near future, charges will be brought and pre-trial restrictions will be chosen.

The Chairman of the IC of Russia has instructed the Central Office of the department to monitor the progress of the criminal case investigation.
