Two Citizens of Ukraine Brought to Criminal Responsibility by Investigators of the IC of Russia

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has identified two more Ukrainian citizens involved in the attack on the internationally protected Russian Center for Science and Culture in the city of Kiev, Ukraine.

The investigators obtained irrefutable evidence that on February 17, 2018, Sergey Filimonov and Sergey Bondar, being active members of the Ukrainian right-wing radical organization C14, along with other persons, took part in the attack on the Russian Center for Science and Culture in the city of Kiev, during which they illegally entered into the Center’s office premises, damaged property, desecrated the State Flag of the Russian Federation.

The actions of Filimonov and Bondar were qualified by the investigation as an attack on an institution enjoying international protection, committed in order to complicate relations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, as well as desecration of the State Flag of the Russian Federation. They were charged in absentia under Part 2 of Article 360 and Article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, measures have been taken to organize their international search.

It is worth noting that investigators of the IC of Russia have already brought to criminal responsibility two citizens of Russia and 5 citizens of Ukraine from among the members and leaders of the Ukrainian right-wing radical organizations C14 and Traditsii i Poryadok (Tradition and Order) for the attack on the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Kiev.

Investigative actions aimed at identifying all persons involved in the attacks on Russian diplomatic facilities in Ukraine will continue.
