In connection with the media publication, in which the relatives of a deceased 4-year-old boy critically assessed the results of the investigation into the death of the child, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the ID of the IC of Russia for Zabaikalsky Krai, Yu.S. Rusanov, to report on the set of carried out investigative actions and the grounds for making a procedural decision on the criminal case under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence), which had been considered by the regional Investigative Department.

Earlier it was reported that the teacher of the kindergarten in the village of Kazanovo, Shilkinsky Raion, Zabaikalsky Krai, drew attention to the deterioration of the boy’s health. The woman called an ambulance for the child and also reported the incident to the child’s parents. The boy died on the way to the hospital. As part of the investigation, the boy’s parents, the management and staff of the kindergarten were interrogated, and a set of forensic examinations was carried out to establish the cause of the child’s death. Employees of the children’s institution, medical workers were checked for involvement in the crime. The investigation found that the boy had choked. Based on the totality of investigative actions, the regional Investigative Department decided to terminate the criminal case due to the absence of corpus delicti in the actions of the officials.
