Criminal Case Initiated on AN-2 Plane Crash in Kamchatka Krai

Investigative authorities of the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation have initiated a criminal case on the AN-2 plane crash on a possible crime under Part 3 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code.

According to preliminary data, on February 11, 2022, at about 12:30 a.m. local time, the AN-2 plane crashed near the village of Koryaki, Yelizovsky District, Kamchatka Krai; the plane was en route to the village of Tymlat, Karaginsky District, Kamchatka Krai.

According to the preliminary data, there were 2 crew members and no passengers on board the aircraft.

The investigative team went to the place of occurrence, the number of victims who were on board is being clarified; investigative and procedural actions aimed at establishing the circumstances of the incident are underway.
