Chairman of the Russian IC Instructs to Report on Circumstances of Several Incidents Involving Migrants in Moscow

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed Head of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Moscow A. A. Strizhov to report on the incident in the capital that involved migrants.

As previously reported, on February 9, 2022, law enforcement authorities were notified of unknown persons drinking alcohol beverages at a playground near Proletarsky Prospekt. The police officers who reacted to the call identified two men who showed aggression and resisted the law enforcement officers. The police officers sought medical assistance, the doctors diagnosed them with bruises. The investigative authorities of the MID of the IC for Moscow are investigating a criminal case on a possible crime under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (use of violence against a representative of the authorities).

The defendants were detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal-Procedural Code of the Russian Federation; the necessary investigative actions were carried out, the charges were brought. During the interrogation, they fully admitted their guilt. The court granted the investigators' request for selecting a restrictive measure in the form of detention against the accused.

In addition, a mass brawl involving migrants occurred in Kuntsevo District of the Western Administrative Okrug of Moscow; bats and sticks were used during the brawl. A report on this incident will also be submitted to the Chairman of the IC of Russia.
