Chairman of the IC of Russia Puts Under Control the Progress of the Investigation of the Criminal Case on the Death of a Minor in Krasnoyarsk Krai

The Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed A.G. Zyubanov, the acting Head of the MID of the IC of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia, to file a report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case on the fact of causing death by negligence to a minor (Part 2, Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

During the investigation of the criminal case, it was established that a female minor in the village of Ust-Izykchul, Krasnoyarsk Krai, had felt unwell since January 31, 2022; accordingly, her mother repeatedly called an ambulance and a pediatrician, however, the minor was not hospitalized by ambulance medics.

On February 3, 2022, due to the worsening condition of her daughter, the woman applied to the infectious diseases department of the hospital in the city of Uzhur, where they were refused hospitalization, officials said the child needed to be transported to the city of Achinsk, yet they didn’t share information about this fact with the resuscitation and advisory center, nor did they arrange any transportation. Then, the minor diagnosed with acute intestinal infection, accompanied by a paramedic and her mother, was transported by an ambulance van without resuscitation equipment and without any medical assistance. During transportation on February 3, the minor was taken to a medical facility in Achinsk in a state of clinical death, where, after resuscitation, her death was attested.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia put the investigation of the criminal case under control in the Central Office of the IC of Russia.
