Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Ordered to Open Criminal Case Over Two Infants Found in Grave Condition in Moscow

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation A. I. Bastrykin ordered A. A. Strizhov, Head of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Moscow, to open a criminal case over twins aged 8 months found in an apartment in east of Moscow.

According to available information, infants have not been fed for some time, nor have they had any due care. Currently, both infants are admitted to hospital in grave condition. The MID of the IC of Russia for Moscow has launched a pre-investigation probe into this matter. The preliminary findings show that parents were already stripped of their parental rights for other children.

A. I. Bastrykin ordered to have a thorough examination of the current situation, determine causes and conditions that have contributed to the commission of the crime and give a procedural evaluation of actions of responsible officials of crime prevention authorities.
