The Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed Acting Head of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol V. S. Tsaplin to report on the progress of the investigation into the criminal case initiated on a road accident, as a result of which an elderly woman died (Article 264 of the Criminal Code).

According to the investigators, on February 14, 2022, in the city of Simferopol, a driver of a BMW car hit an elderly woman. Later, she died in a hospital.

Currently, the investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. An inspection of the scene of the event was carried out, during which the BMW car was seized. The car was examined by means of forensic tools. In the near future, it is planned to conduct auto-technical, forensic, biological, and genetic examinations.

The results of the investigation are monitored by the Central Office of the IC of Russia.
