Chairman of the IC of Russia Monitors Investigation of Murder of Moscow Resident in Karachay-Cherkessia

Investigative authorities of the Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for the Karachay-Cherkess Republic are investigating a criminal case against a 34-year-old resident of the village of Storozhevaya, suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (murder).

According to the investigators, on February 16, 2022, a group of Moscow residents was moving by car in the direction of the village of Arkhyz and stopped near the stanitsa of Kardonikskaya. At this time, a car with two local residents stopped nearby, and a verbal conflict that escalated into a fight occurred. During the quarrel, on the grounds of personal animosity to one of the men, the suspect suddenly had a criminal intent aimed at committing his murder. As a result, the attacker inflicted at least one stab to the victim's abdomen with a knife he carried; the man died on the way to the hospital. Currently, the person who committed the crime has been identified, he has been put on the federal wanted list.

The Chairman of the IC of Russia instructed Head of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Karachay-Cherkess Republic N. V. Schepkin to report on the ongoing investigative actions and operational-search measures. The course of the investigation is monitored by the Central Office of the IC.
