The Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs the Main Investigative Department to Develop the Necessary Proposals to Improve the Law Enforcement Effectiveness in Cases of Violence Against Law Enforcement Officers

On February 17, 2022, two suspects used violence against police officers at the Tulskaya station of the Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya line of the Moscow Metro in order to obstruct the lawful actions of the officers. In doing so, one of the suspects struck the policemen with kicks in the torso area and several punches in the head area, after which he disappeared. Later on, both suspects were arrested.

Due to the high profile of the committed crime, taking into account the fact that such unlawful actions are not isolated cases, but are increasingly being  committed, in order to prevent them and protect law enforcement officers performing their duty from criminal encroachments, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee to check judicial practice in this category of criminal cases and develop the necessary proposals for legislators to improve the efficiency of law enforcement.
