Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs to Promptly Complete Investigation of Criminal Case on Failure to Timely Provide Vital Medicines to Children and Disabled People in Vladimir Oblast

The media circulate an appeal addressed, among others, to the leadership of the IC of Russia; the appeal is dedicated to problems with preferential provision of medicines to disabled children. According to the applicants, in order to save the regional budget, doctors stopped issuing preferential prescriptions for medicines necessary for health reasons.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed Head of the Investigative Department of the IC of Russia for Vladimir Oblast A. A. Kulakov to complete the investigation of the criminal case on failure to timely provide vital medicines to children and the disabled in the region as soon as possible. Currently, the former director of the Center for Procurement of Goods, Works, and Services in the Healthcare Sector of Vladimir Oblast has been charged with committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code. 118 people have been recognized as victims.

Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin has also instructed to report on the investigation results.
