Criminal Case Initiated on Car Explosion Near JCCC Office in Lugansk

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case on a possible crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Paragraphs A, F, G of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code (attempted murder of two or more persons committed in a generally dangerous way, by a group of persons, by prior agreement). The Chairman of the IC of Russia gave the corresponding order.

The investigators found that on February 21, 2022, while on the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic, unidentified persons, with the aim of killing the head of the LPR Representative Office of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination on Ceasefire and Stabilization of the Demarcation Line, placed an explosive device in the VAZ-2106 car parked next to the representative office building; the explosive device was activated at the moment when the official car of the head of the LPR Office of the JCCC was nearby.

The criminals acted intentionally, realizing the public danger of the chosen method of committing the crime. However, the crime was not completed due the circumstances beyond the perpetrators' control.

The Investigative Committee of Russia will identify the persons involved in the crime and will take all measures to implement the principle of the inevitability of punishment for those involved in it.
