Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs Officials to Establish Contact with the Law Enforcement Agencies of Donbass

As a follow-up of a working trip to Rostov Oblast, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, instructed the Department Of Legal Support and International Cooperation of the IC, together with the Main Investigative Department, establish rapport with law enforcement agencies of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics in the investigation of crimes in Donbass.

The head of the IC noted the need to promptly establish direct contacts with counterparts in order to collect and record evidence under the preliminary investigation.

During the working trip, A.I. Bastrykin was informed that officers of the IC of Russia were interrogating refugees arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation to establish all the facts of crimes against them. At the operational meeting A.I. Bastrykin gave a number of specific instructions, including instructions to promptly complete the investigation into criminal cases of crimes committed by the Ukrainian military against civilians. A trial of Ukrainian war criminals, whose victims were civilians, including women and children, must take place.
